SAR Philharmonic Orchestra x CC Live Reporting Workshop

Join Santa's Flight Crew, an exciting and interactive workshop where students become junior reporters, interviewers, and event hosts at this year’s SAR Philharmonic Orchestra Christmas Concert (Passport to Christmas). 

Through a blend of public speaking, communication, improvisation, and journalism-based activities, students will gain firsthand experience engaging with real audiences in a fun and supportive environment. 

Using cue cards and guided interview questions, participants will learn how to conduct short interviews with concert attendees, make announcements, and practice live event reporting. Along the way, they'll develop the confidence to speak clearly, think on their feet, and interact comfortably with people they may never have met before. 

This unique workshop extends public speaking beyond the classroom, allowing students to apply their skills in a real-world setting while experiencing the excitement of being an active part of a special community event. 

What Students Will Learn 

• Confident and effective communication skills

• How to use cue cards and Q&A prompts to guide conversations
